Fernando Sauma começou a tocar violão aos 9 anos, com as primeiras notas ensinadas por seu pai. Cresceu ouvindo Rolling Stones, Beatles, Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery, enfim, tendo acesso a informações musicais dos mais diversos estilos. Estudou com Carlos Mattos, Meira(Jaime Florence) e também Violão Erudito durante sete anos com Sérgio Assad, do Duo Assad. Fez cursos de extensão com o guitarrista argentino Claudio Gabis e com a Colaboradora do Maestro Villa-Lobos, a Maestrina Cacilda Barbosa.

Com o tempo formou bandas mais consistentes como After Beach(1991), The Dirty Tricks(1995), Monkey Brothers e várias outras "bluesbands". Em 1993 participou do comercial mundial dos Chiclets Adams.

Por volta de 1994 com o guitarrista Zé São Paulo, realizou o Projeto Bytes‘n’Blues no qual eram acompanhados por um computador, uma inovação para a época.

Recentemente entrevistado pelo cantor Vinny, Fernando fala sobre a importância, influência e resgate do Blues.

Influenciado pelas guitarras de Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Albert King, e também flertando com o jazz de George Benson, Charlie Christian, Kenny Burrel e Pat Martino, Fernando Sauma se apresenta em eventos corporativos, casas noturnas, festas, feiras e festivais, nas configurações acústica ou elétrica.

Fernando Sauma began playing guitar at age 9 with the first notes taught by his father. Grew up listening to Rolling Stones, Beatles, Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery, finally, having access to the most diverse musical styles.
